How Do I Sign Up?

Hi, I’m Nicole Mitchell the Youth Development Coordinator for Franklin Elementary School’s Flagship Program. I was born and raised in Madison WI. I received a Bachelor of Fine Art with a minor in Anthropology from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. I received a second Bachelor’s in Art Education with a ceramic emphasis from Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.

My professional experience varies from teaching art, coordinating parenting programs, coordinating art programs, promoting family literacy and advocating for women and children. Before joining the Flagship team I worked with the YWCA in Missoula as the Children’s Coordinator. In this position I supported women and children who experienced domestic violence, abuse. I was fortunate to be a part of their social justice missions like the elimination of racism and the Montana Women’s Vote Coalition.

In my free time I love to cross country ski, bike, do yoga, read, watch movies and listen to music. I am looking forward to using my creative energy and passion for supporting children in need. I love working with volunteers and feel it is our civic duty to give back to our community in some fulfilling way. I look forward to organizing enrichment opportunities for the children at Franklin. If you have any ideas for me or would like to volunteer please contact me anytime.

Thank you for supporting Franklin Flagship!!
