Summer Schedule 2010

How do I sign my child up?
1) Review the summer day camps listed to determine which will be of interest to your child, fit your schedule, and list only those camps you will encourage your child to commit to for the entire week.
2) Complete the sign up sheet as soon as possible and return to Ali (in the Flagship Office), Rosie (in the front office), or your child’s teacher.  The sign- up sheet can be obtained from the brochure sent home or from Ali. Please return your sign-up sheet before May 12th in order to receive your confirmation form in May.  Ali will be out of the office from May 17-June 14.  If Ali receives your confirmation for after May 12th, you may not receive a confirmation form until after June 14th. 

Pick Up Procedure
Please pay special attention to the confirmation sheet. It will tell you what time the camps begin and end, and where to pick up your child.

The Hawthorne Flagship Program is running week long thematic camps this summer. Camps are divided up by grade level.  Please sign up for a camp based on the grade level your child is currently enrolled in for the 2009-2010 school year. 

Each camp will include lunch and transportation to and from each activity daily.

Meet Missoula     July 6-9   9am-3pm
Enjoy all of the wonderful activities that Missoula has to offer in the summer! We will take a picnic lunch to Out to Lunch,  visit splash decks, check out some museums and much more! Grades K-5

Nature Rangers      July 12-16             9am-3pm
Join us for a fun week full of science experiments and exploration! We will learn about backyard ecology and making your own backyard sustainable.  We will study the world through our scientist goggles! Grades 3-5

Hiking Camp    July 19-23   9am-3pm  
Join us on many different hikes around Missoula. We will get outside and enjoy the beauty of our area.  Each day will be a new hike. Grades K-5

Art Camp       July 26-30      9am-1pm
Join us for a week of creativity.  We will visit many art destinations around Missoula.  We will also make our own creations from pencil sketches to paper mache.  Don’t miss the fun! Grades K-2

Exploration Camp   Aug 2-6     9am-3pm
Join Parks and Rec for an action packed adventure. Each morning you will learn a new skill and explore the natural world around us. We will spend the afternoons swimming and bowling.  Don’t forget your suit and towel! Grades 3-5

Science Camp      Aug 9-13    9am-1pm
Dive into the science all around us! We will learn the science of recycling and decomposition, as well as our own experiments and investigations.  Bring your curiosity with you in this exploration camp! Grades K-2
