The Flagship Program

The Flagship Program is Looking for Community Members to Volunteer with Missoula’s Youth!!

Volunteer Application

If you are interested in making a difference in the lives Missoula’s youth, the Flagship Program is the right volunteer program for you!! The Flagship Program provides after-school programs for students at 9 Missoula County Public Schools running Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays from 3:30-5:00, Thursday 2:30-4:00.  They also have lunch time activities for the kids that occur at a variety of times between 11:00-1:00 as well. Times are flexible at High Schools.  

As a volunteer, you could:

a.)  Volunteer once-a-week after school assisting with an existing program.

b.)  Volunteer once-a-week after school teaching a hobby/skill.

c.)  After School Tutoring is always needed!

d.)  Work as an office assistant with a Flagship Coordinator

Examples of programs happening at the schools…

Knitting Club, Ski Club, Bike Club, Arts and Crafts, Hair and Skin Care, Flag Football…

Participating Schools: Elementary- Franklin and Hawthorne, Middle- Washington, C.S. Porter, and Meadow Hill, High School- Hellgate, Sentinel, Big Sky, Willard Alternative

 
 

What We are Looking for in a Volunteer

Someone who…

·       Is Interested in working with youth

·       Has a special hobby or skill that they want to   

           share

·       Is Interested in learning more about after-

           school programs

·       Can serve as a positive adult role model

·       Can commit to volunteering once/week for 5-7

           weeks

·       Wants to learn more about coordinating

           programs (office assistant role)

·       Has an open mind

There is no experience necessary. The Flagship Coordinators are there to help you make your volunteer experience as valuable as possible.
