Hey there! My name is Brian Christianson and I am beyond pleased to be at Hawthorne Elementary with The Flagship Program.
I was born and raised in southern Minnesota. Following a rich childhood filled with snowboarding, soccer, photography, orchestra, paintball and fishing, I headed out West to Colorado for college. I received a ‘Certificate in Professional Photography’ from Colorado Mountain College before going on to finish out a degree in ‘Geography and Environmental Studies’ at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
Following college, I looked north to Montana and secured a position in 2008 as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with an afterschool program in Centerville, Montana (~15 miles southeast of Great Falls). The Montana Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA program brought me to Missoula in 2009 to support a statewide team of national service members. And the rest, as they say, is history.
When I am not hanging out at school, I can be found around Missoula with my wife Linds biking, hiking, mountaineering, picture-taking, playing piano/violin and volunteering with youth-serving programs and organizations.
