As the newest of Missoula Flagship
Development Coordinators, I am elated to be assigned to Hawthorne
School. I was born in Missoula, attended grade school in
Billings, high school in Great Falls, and graduated from U of M with
a degree in social work. I lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
from 1983 to 2003 where I earned a elementary teaching certificate
and a Masters of Ed. When I moved back to Missoula in 2003, I
spent a year as an Americorps member working at Franklin School's
FRC (Family Resource Center). Last year I substitute taught
for MCPS, coached the high school swim teams, and worked full-time
at the Good Food Store. Imagine how thrilled I am to be
working at Hawthorne where all my talents, educations, and life
experiences can be put to work for the benefit of the students,
families, and Missoula community.
The Flagship
activities planned for this session are well-rounded with something
for everyone. Let's work together to make Flagship fun,
engaging, and a positive experience for the kids and volunteers.
After school programs rely heavily on the strengths and talents of
the volunteers. We are fortunate to have University of Montana
students, professionals from the community, and friends of Flagship
sharing their talents and knowledge with Missoula children. |
