Internship Overview
Internship Application |
Hello! My
name is Linnaea Renz. As a native Montanan—I am so excited to
return to my hometown after 8 years of adventures elsewhere. I left
Hellgate High School in 1999 to pursue a degree in Geography from
the University of Washington. There I had my first taste of working
with youth at a teen homeless shelter.
After graduating in 2003, I
spent the next 4 years working as a Crew Leader for Youth
Conservation Corps in Yellowstone. Exploring the backcountry of
Yellowstone while teaching teenagers trail work and environmental
education has left me with an even stronger love for the outdoors
and working with youth. During the winter seasons, I was an
instructor at a wilderness therapy program, teaching primitive
living skills and mentoring at-risk youth. I also spent 7 months of
last year teaching in Africa and South America for The Traveling
School, an all-girls study-abroad high school.
Outside of the
working world, I am an avid hiker, biker, boater, snowboarder,
knitter, ultimate Frisbee player, music connoisseur, and baker of
sweets!
I
am excited to share my experiences with the students of Sentinel and
show them all that Montana has to offer. I hope to engage students
in activities that teach them new skills, invigorate their passion
for life, and involve them in their communities in a meaningful
way. If you would like to volunteer or have great ideas for new
activities, I would love to talk with you. If you are a student,
you can stop by anytime to sign up for activities or just chat.
